Les Disobeyles (The Fall) Gen 3:1-24- Elementary Lesson for Aug 4

13AUG_BL03_Instagram-copyIn this week’s Bible story, God placed Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden with just one command (Genesis 1, 2, 4). When they began to doubt God, they made their own plan and disobeyed Him. Their one act of disobedience continues to have profound affects for every person on earth.

Our Bottom Line is: I should trust and obey even when I think my way is better. Sometimes we think we can make a plan that’s smarter, easier, or quicker than our leader’s plan, but our leader sees the bigger picture and understands the greater consequences. We might respectfully ask questions, but we can trust their plan.

The monthly memory verse is: Obey your leaders. Put yourselves under their authority. They keep watch over you. They know they are accountable to God for everything they do. Obey them so that their work will be a joy. If you make their work a heavy load, it won’t do you any good.” Hebrews 13:17 NIrV

Reaching the Summit (Mat 22:34-40)- Elementary Lesson for July 28

13JULY_BL_Week4_InstagramIn this week’s biblical principle, Jesus teaches the Pharisees about the greatest commandment (Matthew 22:34-40). Jesus commanded that we should love God with all our hearts and love others as we love ourselves.

Our Bottom Line is: God is doing something in you to change the world around you. Often, one of the best ways we can love God is by loving His people. Regardless of who the person is or what they’ve done, God still loves them, and we can too.

The monthly memory verse is: You are the light of the world. A city on a hill can’t be hidden.” Matthew 5:14 NIrV When we choose to love God by loving others, we will help God’s love shine on all people.

Trailblazers (Mat 28:16-20)- Elementary Lesson for July 21

13JULY_BL_Week3_Instagram1

In this week’s Bible story, Jesus commands His followers to go into all the world and tell about God’s love (Matthew 28:16-20). And then we’ll see how some of those men obeyed and God’s love spread from one town to the next (Matthew 9:35 – 11:1; Acts 1-2, 8-10; The Epistles)

Our Bottom Line is: God is doing something in me to show the world who He is. Each of Jesus’ followers had a story of when God had shown them love, and they were able to share that story with other people.

The monthly memory verse is: You are the light of the world. A city on a hill can’t be hidden.” Matthew 5:14 NIrV God is developing a story of His love in each of us that we can share, and soon His love can cover the whole world.

Go the Extra Mile (Mat 5:41-42)- Elementary Lesson for July 14

13JULY_BL_Week2_Instagram

In this week’s biblical principle, Jesus is teaching the people how to be kind to others, even people who mistreat you (Matthew 5:41-42). In Jesus’ time, the Roman guards could force the people to carry their belongings for a mile. But Jesus was teaching that, to show

God’s kindness to the guards, the people should go an extra mile.

Our Bottom Line is: God is doing something in me so I will love people who are hard to love. It’s easy to be kind to our friends and even friendly acquaintances, but this instructs us to show extra kindness to the people who mistreat us.

The monthly memory verse is: You are the light of the world. A city on a hill can’t be hidden.” Matthew 5:14 NIrV When we go beyond expectations in showing kindness, especially to people who mistreat us, we are shining God’s light in the world.

The Journey (Peter Experiences Jesus’ Love)- Elementary Lesson for July 7

In this week’s Bible story, Jesus loves and forgives Peter for denying Him (John 18-21). Three times, Peter had told people he did not know Jesus after Jesus had been arrested. But when they met again after Jesus’ resurrection, Jesus loved Peter enough to forgive him.

Our Bottom Line is: God is doing something in me so I will love the people around me. Experiencing Jesus’ love teaches us how to love others. When we love the way Jesus loves us, we forgive when others wrong us, we serve and help meet others’ needs, and we sacrifice what we want for what’s best for others.

The monthly memory verse is: You are the light of the world. A city on a hill can’t be hidden.” Matthew 5:14 NIrV By forgiving, serving, and sacrificing for others, we spread the light of Jesus’ love to the people around us.
