Preschool-Kindergarten, Sun Mar 31: Jesus is Alive!

Bible Text: Mark 15:43-16:16

Read with Me Bible Reference: Pages 396-401

Key Point of Passage: Jesus rose from the dead and appeared to the disciples so they would go and tell everyone the good news and be saved when they believed.

Memory Verse: God loved the world so much that He gave His Son (John 3:16).

Questions for Discussion:

1)      Jesus was buried in a tomb that had a big heavy stone door. But when Mary and the other women went to the tomb, what had happened to the stone?

2)      And what had happened to Jesus?

3)      Did the disciples believe it when they first heard that Jesus had risen from the dead? What about after they saw Him for themselves?

4)      God tells all of us to go and tell the good news that Jesus died for our sins and then rose from the dead. Can you think of anyone you know who you can tell this good news to?

Preschool-Kindergarten, Sunday Apr 08: Easter’s Good News: Jesus Saved Me!

Bible Text: Romans 3:21-24, 5:8, 8:31-39

Key Point of Passage: God loves us, and He forgives us when we believe Jesus died for our sins.

Memory Verse: God forgives sins (Romans 3:25).

Questions for Discussion:

1)      The Bible says here that everyone has sinned or done bad things. This means that even everyone in this room has disobeyed God some time. Can you think of a time when you did something you knew was bad?

2)      But today is Easter Sunday. Does anyone know what we celebrate on Easter Sunday? That’s right. Jesus died on the cross to pay the punishment for our bad things. And then He rose from the dead on Easter Sunday!

3)      The Bible says we can be forgiven from all the bad things we have done. How do we receive God’s forgiveness?……We say we’re sorry and we believe in Jesus.

4)      God loves each of you so very much. And He wants each of you to receive His forgiveness and follow Him. If any of you wants to do that today you can pray this prayer with me. Let’s pray. “Dear Jesus, thank you for dying for my sins. I am sorry for all the bad things I have done. Please forgive me and help me to follow you all of my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

Preschool-Kindergarten, Sunday Mar 18: Jesus Rises from the Dead!

Bible Text: John 20:1-20

Read with Me Bible Reference: Pages 398-401

Key Point of Passage: Mary and the disciples saw that Jesus had risen from the dead!

Memory Verse: Jesus died and rose again (1 Thessalonians 4:14).

Questions for Discussion:

1)      Last week we learned about how Jesus’ followers had seen Him nailed to a cross, killed, and buried in a tomb. But when Mary came back to the tomb three days later, what had happened?

2)      Did Mary and the disciples get to see Jesus after He had risen from the dead?

3)      Jesus told Mary and the disciples to tell others this good news. Easter is coming up in 3 weeks. This is the day we celebrate Jesus rising from the dead. Do you have any friends you can invite to church who might not know about this good news yet?

Preschool-Kindergarten, Sunday Mar 11: Jesus is Crucified

Bible Text: Luke 23:26-23:56

Read with Me Bible Reference: Pages 393-397

Key Point of Passage: Jesus’ followers watched as He was crucified with criminals and buried in a tomb.

Memory Verse: Jesus died and rose again (1 Thessalonians 4:14).

Questions for Discussion:

1)      Jesus was nailed to a cross next to criminals who had done bad things. But had Jesus done anything wrong?

2)      The criminals were being punished for their own sins. But for whose sin was Jesus dying?

3)      Even the criminal who was sorry for his sin was forgiven and got to go to heaven with Jesus. Can anyone be forgiven by God if they turn to Jesus for forgiveness?

4)      The Bible says Jesus was crucified and buried in a tomb. Was that the end of Jesus? Does anyone know what happened three days later? Yes. We’ll talk more about that next week!

4)      Do you think Jesus forgave Peter for lying about Him?

5)      Does Jesus forgive us when we are sorry for the bad things we do too?

Preschool-Kindergarten, Sunday Feb 26: Jesus Prays in the Garden

Bible Text: Matthew 26:36-46

Read with Me Bible Reference: Pages 374-377

Key Point of Passage: Jesus was sad in the garden as he thought about the pain He was going to have on the cross, but He still prayed for God’s way instead of what He wanted.

Memory Verse: Jesus died and rose again (1 Thessalonians 4:14).

Questions for Discussion:

1)      Jesus went to the garden with three of His friends and He asked them to stay awake and pray with Him. Did they stay awake?

2)      Jesus was sad because He knew He was soon going to die on a cross. But even though He didn’t want to have to hurt, did He demand that God do things His own way? Or did He pray for God to have God’s way?

3)      Even though Jesus still had to be crucified, do you still think it helped Jesus to pray to God when He was sad?

4)      Do you think it helps us to pray to God when we are sad too?
