Family Devotions for Early Childhood, Sunday Oct 23-30: Adam and Eve Eat the Fruit

Bible Text: Genesis 3:1-23

Read with Me Bible Reference: Pages 14-19

Key Point of Passage: Adam & Eve chose not to obey God, but listened to other voices instead. They had to leave the beautiful garden God had made for them.

Memory Verse: God created the heavens and the earth (Genesis 1:1).

Questions for Discussion:

1)      What one thing did God tell Adam not to eat in yesterday’s Bible story?

2)      What did the serpent tell Eve to do (obey God or disobey)?

3)      What did Adam & Eve choose to do (obey God or disobey?)

4)      What happened after they disobeyed God?

5)      Have you ever chosen to disobey God – or your parents? What happened?

6)      So is it better to obey God? Or other voices or thoughts that tell you to disobey?

Family Devotions for Early Childhood, Sunday Oct 9-16: God Created Adam and Eve

Bible Text: Genesis 2:8-25

Read with Me Bible Reference: Pages 10-13

Key Point of Passage: God created the heavens and the earth, and He made Eve to be a perfect helper for the man Adam that He had made.

Memory Verse: God created the heavens and the earth (Genesis 1:1).

Questions for Discussion:

1)      Who created the world? Sky? Plants? Animals? People?

2)      What did God use to create the animals and Adam?

3)      The Bible says that even though Adam named each of the animals, they weren’t good enough helpers for him. Who did God make to be a perfect helper and wife for Adam?

4)      What part of Adam did God use to make Eve?

5)      Did God create your family too to be helpers to each other?

Family Devotions for Early Childhood, Sunday Oct 2: God Created the World

Bible Text: Genesis 1:1-2:3

Read with Me Bible Reference: Pages 2-9

Key Point of Passage: God created everything.

Memory Verse: God created the heavens and the earth (Genesis 1:1).

Questions for Discussion:

1)      What does “create” mean?

2)      Have you ever created something (picture or art project, etc.)?

3)      Who created the sun? Moon? Sky? Land? Sea? Plants? Animals? Mommies? Daddies? Children?

4)      If God created beautiful things like sunsets, the oceans, and even great big animals like the elephant or strong animals like the lion, how big do you think God is? How strong? How beautiful?
