Preschool-Kindergarten, Sunday Sept 15: John Baptized Jesus

Bible Text: Matthew 3:1-17

Read with Me Bible Reference: Pages 286-289

Key Point of Passage: John baptized people for repentance, but Jesus brings the Holy Spirit too.

Memory Verse: Jesus is the Son of God (Acts 9:20).

Questions for Discussion:

1)      John the Baptist taught people to turn away from their sins and then he baptized them. What is sin? What does baptize mean?

2)      When Jesus was baptized, some very special things happened. Do you remember what they were?

3)      John said he baptized only with water, but that Jesus baptizes with the Holy Spirit. When we believe in Jesus today, do we receive the Holy Spirit too?

Preschool-Kindergarten, Sunday Sept 8: Jesus as a Boy in the Temple

Bible Text: Luke 2:41-52

Read with Me Bible Reference: Pages 280-285

Key Point of Passage: Jesus’ parents were looking everywhere for Him, but they finally found Him in God’s house, asking and answering amazing questions with the teachers there.

Memory Verse: Jesus is the Son of God (Acts 9:20).

Questions for Discussion:

1)      When Jesus’ parents realized He wasn’t with them, what did they do?

2)      After three days, where did they finally find Him?

3)      What was Jesus doing in God’s house (the temple)?

4)      The Bible says everyone was amazed at how much Jesus understood. How do you think Jesus knew so much when He was only 12 years old?

5)      Even though Jesus was the Son of God, He grew up and got stronger and wiser just like we do. What can you do to learn more about God?

Preschool-Kindergarten, Sunday Sept 1: Jesus is Born!

Bible Text: Luke 2:1-20

Read with Me Bible Reference: Pages 256-265

Key Point of Passage: Angels and Shepherds praised God because Jesus the savior was born; the shepherds found baby Jesus lying in a manger, just as the angels said.

Memory Verse: A Savior has been born; He is Christ the Lord (Luke 2:11).

Questions for Discussion:

1)      Jesus is our Lord and Savior. But when He was first born, He wasn’t born in a palace with a nice warm crib. What was Jesus’ first bed?

2)      What was the good news the angels told to the shepherds?

3)      After the shepherds saw baby Jesus, they praised God. Let’s praise God and thank Him for sending His Son Jesus on Christmas.
